David Hooker

David provides leadership to help Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park advance its mission.
He is responsible for mobilizing broad-based support in order to present quality exhibitions,
sculpture and gardens in unique settings. David is influential in employing diplomacy and
communication skills to cultivate and enhance relationships with the Board, staff, volunteers,
donors, corporations, foundations, peer organizations and the community.

David has held leadership positions at DaVinci Capital, a private equity firm; C & H Holdings, LLC,
an automotive and real estate holding company; and Mazda Great Lakes, an automotive
distribution company serving Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. He is also a
member of the Board of Directors of Northpointe Bancshares and the Advisory Board of Custer
Office Environments.

David is currently a trustee of the Board of Grand Valley State University and a past chair, and
has served as a voluntary board member of ArtPrize, Grand Rapids Student Advancement
Foundation, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and Foundation, Central Reformed Church,
Frederik Meijer Charitable Trust, and Home Repair Services.
David earned a Masters of Business Administration at The University of Michigan and Bachelor
of Arts degree from Kenyon College.
David is married to Leslie Hooker and they have three children.
