2.16.17 – Carol Paine-McGovern

Carol Paine-McGovern is Executive Director of the Kent School Services Network, KSSN. KSSN is a community school initiative in Kent County Michigan partnering with 39 schools in 8 school districts and 4 programs at the Kent Intermediate School District. Previous employment included President of the Paine Family Foundation, working as Manager for the Kent County Healthy Start Program as well as a consultant for the Frey and Nokomis Foundations.
Prior to moving to Michigan Carol worked as an Education Policy Analyst for the Oklahoma State House of Representatives and as Nutrition Coordinator for the Oklahoma State Health Department. Carol also served four years with the National Health Service Corps in rural West Virginia.
Carol is a former school board member of the East Grand Rapids Public Schools and was recently appointed by Governor Snyder to the Early Childhood Investment Corporation. She has held board positions on the Council of Michigan Foundations Board, School Community Health Alliance of Michigan, Center for Community Leadership, GROW, and the East Grand Rapids Library Commission. Carol holds a B.S. from Michigan State University and a M.P.H. from the University of Minnesota.
