Rotary International’s Rose Bowl Parade Float

On January 1, 2020 I invite you to watch the broadcast of the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee’s 41th entry in the 131th annual Tournament of Roses Parade.The Rotary theme is “Rotary Connects the World” The Tournament of Roses Parade’s theme is “The Power of Hope.” We have posted on Facebook our design of a Flying Penguin and our theme “Hope Connects the World.”

The viewing audience for the Tournament of Roses, Rose Parade is an estimated 111,000 in pre- and post-parade viewing; 80,000 online viewing, 700,000 on the Parade route, 37 million individual television viewers in the United States, and millions more international viewers in more in over 200 countries. What a great way to share the Rotary’s message with the world about all of the great work we do.
About the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee:
The Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee is composed of over 75 individual Rotarians from over 25 Districts and has seven sponsoring Districts. The goal of the committee is to promote Rotary International to a worldwide audience by presenting a Float in the Tournament of Roses Parade held on January 1. The committee works throughout the year raising funds from Rotary Clubs within the USA and Canada and individual Rotarians, designs the float, selects the theme for the float which corresponds with the theme for the Rose Parade and Rotary International’s theme for that year. The Committee also works with over 1,000 other Rotary volunteers to decorate the float with all organic materials.The Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee is managed primarily by these seven Rotary districts:

  1. District 5190 covering parts of Northern California and Northern Nevada
  2. District 5240 covering Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Kern Counties
  3. District 5280 covering Los Angeles Basin
  4. District 5300 covering Southern California and Southern Nevada
  5. District 5320 covering Orange County and Southern Los Angeles Counties
  6. District 5330 covering Riverside and Imperial Counties
  7. District 5340 covering San Diego County
