DESCRIPTION:“Tim Gortsema is editor of Gemini Media\, publisher of Grand Rapids Business Journal and Grand Rapids Magazine\, both of which have been based in West Michigan for more than 35 years. \n“Tim is a graduate of Hope College.  He started his journalism career in 1982 as a freelance writer for a chain of West Michigan weeklies\, eventually working his way up to managing editor there seven years later. \n“He joined Gemini in 1996 as managing editor of the Business Journal and in 2018 took over as editor of both the newspaper and city/regional magazine. \n“Tim is a West Michigan native who has watched Grand Rapids evolve from a sleepy little town where\, as former mayor John Logie said\, the sidewalks rolled up every day at 5 p.m.\, to one of the best small-to-midsize cities in America.  And he has been involved in covering that renaissance for local readers for the better part of 40 years. “
