3.25.17 – Habitat Veterans Build #2
On Saturday, March 25th, volunteers from the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids helped with interior finishing projects at the Habitat Veterans Build house at 210 Gold NW in the John Ball Area Neighborhood of Grand Rapids. This was the second of three total volunteer days our Club is working on this home through spring 2017. Jonathan and Lindsay Droski, the Habitat Kent home buyers of this home, are working diligently alongside hundreds of volunteers over the next year, including our Rotary club, to build a safe, healthy and affordable home for their two young children to grow up in.
Our Club and the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids Charities Foundation provided a generous $5,000 sponsorship, as well, to leverage a $150K community investment goal to effectively fund and build this house. This home is one of 13 Habitat Kent homes being built on the west side over the next year for individuals and families in need of affordable home ownership opportunities in Grand Rapids.
Thank you to the following Rotary Club of Grand Rapids members for their volunteer efforts on Saturday, March 25th, at the Habitat Veterans Build: Tim and Ping Liang, Mark Potter and Theresa Potter, Michael, Kristen and Boo Sytsma, Christine and Bob Lindeman, Kevin Paul, Loic Dimithe, Sam DeVries and Bruce Pienton. A special thank you to Tim Liang for contributing most of the photos below.
